Encircled in Nature - Color Combo

I love a card with a wreath! I used the Encircled in Nature Dies to create this pretty holiday card. The sentiment is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set which has been my go to set for Christmas.

 
 

The color combo is from my December Inspiration Calendar - Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wheat and Shaded Spruce, great Christmas colors.

Tips & Instructions

  • Cherry Cobbler Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Layer - 4 x 5 1/4

  • Wild Wheat - 4 x 4, die cut with the wreath die using the Encircled in Natures Dies.

  • Shaded Spruce - die cut 3 sets of branches

  • Lay the wreath over the white layer to determine where to stamp the sentiment. Stamp the sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink.

  • Adhere the wreath to the white layer.

  • Adhere the greenery pieces to the bottom of the wreath.

  • Tie a bow with the Cherry Cobbler & Gold Satin Ribbon and adhere to the bottom of the wreath with a Glue Dot.

  • Adhere the layer to the card base.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink. It’s a big enough sentiment where you don’t really need to add anything else.

 
 

Wild Wheat almost looks like gold to me and works so well for the wreath.

Sketch Challenge - One of a Kind

I made this card for the weekly Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge using the One of a Kind Bundle. I embossed the background layer using the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder to add a snowy look.

Tips & Instructions

  • Night of Navy Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Gold Foil Layer - 3 7/8 x 5 1/8

  • Boho Blue and Basic White Layers - 2 1/2 x 3 5/8, emboss each piece using the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to the Gold Foil layer and adhere to the card base.

  • Adhere a 3/16 x 3 7/8 over the seam of the blue and white layers.

  • Stamp the large snowflake on Basic White in Boho Blue ink and die cut with the coordinating die. Die cut the detailed snowflake from Basic White and adhere to the stamped snowflake. Adhere to the card with Dimensionals. Adhere a large Adhesive-Backed Snowflake to the center.

  • Stamp the sentiment on Basic White in Night of Navy ink and fussy cut. Adhere to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Add some small Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp sentiment in Night of Navy Ink and stamp some snowflakes across the top in Boho Blue ink.

 
 

I love the embossed background and the gold accents.

Sketch Saturday - Greetings of the Season

This was a fun card to make and I was able to use up some of my scraps of patterned paper. I used the Take A Bow Designer Series Paper and Greetings of the Season Stamp Set.

 
 

I made this card for the weekly Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here’s the sketch I used.

 
 

Tips & Instructions

  • Garden Green Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Layer - 4 x 5 1/4

  • Take a Bow Designer Series Paper - cut 7 pieces 1/2” wide at varying lengths.

  • Adhere the Designer Series Paper pieces to the white layer. I started with the middle piece and worked my way out on both sides.

  • Basic White - 1 x 3 1/2, stamp sentiment in Real Red ink. The sentiment is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set.

  • Adhere white sentiment layer to a piece of Garden Green cut at 1 1/4 x 3 3/4. Adhere to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Add a Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermint.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the sentiment Real Red ink and add a 1/2 x 5 1/4 strip of Designer Series Paper.

 
 

I love how bright and cheerful these patterns are for the card.

Golden Greenery - Color Combo

Shy Shamrock isn’t a traditional green for Christmas but I love it on this card. I used the Golden Greenery Stamp Set and Dies to create this pretty Christmas Card.

Tips & Instructions

  • Shy Shamrock Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Festive Glimmer Paper (red) - 3 3/4 x 5

  • Basic White - 3 1/2 x 4 3/4. Stamp the sentiment across the bottom in Real Red ink.

  • Stamp two bells in Pecan Pie ink on Basic White. I stamped the detailed image direct and then stamped off for the filler image. Die cut using the Golden Greenery Dies.

  • Stamp 2 greenery images in Shy Shamrock ink on Basic White. Stamp the detailed image direct and the background image by stamping off first. Die cut using the Golden Greenery Dies.

  • Die cut 3 pine branches from Shy Shamrock Cardstock.

  • Die cut the berries from the red Festive Glimmer Paper.

  • Arrange and adhere the greenery pieces as shown. Adhere the bells on top. Add some of the berries that you die cut from the glimmer paper. I used my Take Your Pick Tool to help place them.

  • Tie a bow with a piece of Iridescent Striped Trim and adhere to the bells with a glue dot.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the sentiment in Real Red ink. Stamp the greenery images in Shy Shamrock stamping direct for the detailed image and stamping off first for the background image.

 
 

I’m so happy with how this card turned out using Shy Shamrock.

Sketch Challenge - Countryside Inn

I made this card for the weekly Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge using the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper, one of my favorites.

  • Night of Navy Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Layer 3 1/2 x 4 3/4

  • Die cut 3 pieces of the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper using the Greetings of the Seasons Dies.

  • Stamp sentiment at the bottom corner of the white layer in Night of Navy ink. The sentiment is from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set

  • Adhere the Designer Series Paper pieces to the white layer as shown and let them hang over at the top. Cut off the overhang.

  • Tie a knot in a piece of Night of Navy & Gold Glittered Ribbon and adhere with a Glue Dot.

  • Add some small gold Blooming Pearls to the flower centers on the paper.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp sentiment in Night of Navy Ink and add a strip of Designer Series Paper to the bottom.

 
 

I haven’t used this patterned paper in a while and love all the different patterns and shades of blue.

Sketch Saturday - Decorative Trees

I love the Decorative Trees Dies. You can cut a plain tree and then add a pretty layer to it and there are lots of choices for the layers. So many options!

Tips & Instructions

  • Cherry Cobbler Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Gold Foil Layer - 4 x 5 1/4, adhere to the card base.
    TIP - Die cut the fancy tree layer from the center of the gold layer to save on paper.

  • Basic White Layer - 3 3/4 x 5, emboss using the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to the card.

  • Regal Distressed Designer Series Paper Strip - 3/4 x 5

  • Die cut the plain tree from Shaded Spruce using the Decorative Trees Dies.

  • Die cut the detailed tree from Gold Foil and adhere to the Shaded Spruce tree. Adhere tree to the Designer Series Paper strip and then adhere the strip to the card.

  • Stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink and die cut using the Unbounded Love Dies. Adhere label to the card with Dimensionals.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink. Stamp the top portion of the tree in Shaded Spruce ink.

 
 

I love the gold accents on the tree, the strip of paper and the mat behind the snowy layer.

Tips & Instructions

  • Blueberry Bushel Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Layer 4 x 5 1/4

  • Full of Life Designer Series Paper 3 3/4 x 5

  • Use the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut our 4 squares from the Designer Series paper layer. TIP - use the next size larger square dies to determine where to cut them out.

  • Die cut 4 squares from the next size larger squares from Basic White and adhere the Designer Series Paper squares to them. Wrap a piece of White Diagonal Trim around the bottom area of the Designer Series Paper and adhere to the back. Adhere layer to the card.

  • Adhere the squares back to the area that you cut them from.

  • Stamp sentiment on Basic White in Blueberry Bushel ink and die cut using a circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Die cut the next larger circle from Blueberry Bushel Cardstock and adhere behind the white circle. Adhere to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Feed a piece of the white Diagonal Trim under the trim and tie a singe knot.

  • Add some Blueberry Bushel Tinsel Gems.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp sentiment in Blueberry Bushel Ink and add a strip of Designer Series Paper to the bottom.

Sketch Saturday - More Than Autumn Thanksgiving Card

I made this card for the Atlantic Hearts Weekly Sketch Challenge using the More Than Autumn Bundle, just in time for Thanksgiving and all the delicious foods that go with it.

 
 

Here’s the sketch I used. I wanted to do something different from flowers so I decided on butterflies.

 
 

Tips & Instructions

  • Garden Green Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White layer - 4 x 5 1/4, adhere to the card base.

  • To Market Designer Series Paper - 3 3/4 x 5, adhere to the card.

  • Basic White Strip - 3/4 x 5, emboss using the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to the card.

  • Basic White - 1 x 1 1/2, stamp sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink. The sentiment is from the Choose Happy Stamp Set. Adhere to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Punch a hexagon from Basic White using the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch.

  • Stamp the pie and whipped cream on a scrap of Basic White in Black Memento ink. Colro the pie crust with a Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends Marker. Color the pie with Light & Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends Markers. Die Cut the pie and the whipped cream using the coordinating dies. Adhere the whipped cream to the pie.

  • Die cut the leaf twice, once from Garden Green and once from Pumpkin Pie. Adhere the leaves to the back of the pie and then adhere the pie to the hexagon label.

  • Adhere the label to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Add some Pecan Pie Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink. The sentiment is from the More Than Autumn Stamp Set and I just stamped the word “Grateful” by masking off the rest of the sentiment. Use A Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends Marker to add the 3 dots. Adhere the other parts of the leaves that you die cut.

 
 

I love the gingham pattern for this card, it really goes well with the slice of pumpkin pie.

Sophisticated Sled - Color Combo

This week’s color combo is perfect for a Christmas Card. I used the Sophisticate Sled Bundle and the Regal Distressed Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Tips & Instructions

  • Pretty Peacock Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Layer - 4 x 5 1/4, adhere to card base.

  • Regal Distressed Specialty Designer Series Paper - 3 3/4 x 5, adhere to card.

  • Die cut the sled pieces from Crumb Cake Cardstock. Color the frame with a Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Marker. Feed a piece of Linen Thread through the holes in the top piece (steering piece) and tie knots at each end. Adhere the sled pieces to the frame.

  • Die cut the greenery piece from a scrap of Pretty Peacock Cardstock and adhere to the top of the sled.

  • Die cut the ice skates from Silver Foil and a second pair from Basic White. Snip off the blades from the bottom of the white skates and adhere to the silver skates. Die cut the laces from Cherry Cobbler and adhere to the skates.

  • Adhere a piece of Linen Thread to the back of one skate and feed the Linen Thread behind the top area of the sled and adhere to the back of the other skate. I used Scotch Tape to secure it behind the skate. I left them loose.

  • Adhere the sled to the card.

  • Tie a bow with a piece of Cherry Cobbler & Gold Satin Ribbon and adhere to the greenery piece.

  • Stamp sentiment on a 1/2” strip of Basic White in Pretty Peacock ink. Adhere to the card with a Dimensionals.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the sentiment Pretty Peacock ink. Stamp some snowflakes in Crumb Cake ink.

 
 

I think this card is very pretty and elegant. The dies for the sled cut and emboss in one pass, so cool.

Tips & Instructions

  • Real Red Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Layer 3 3/4 x 5

  • Take A Bow Designer Series Paper

    • Large Square - 2 1/2 x 2 1/2

    • Small Square - 2 x 2

  • Die cut the HO HO HO letters from Real Red using the Mini Alphabet Dies and adhere to the white layer.

  • Wrap ribbon around the squares. I used Cherry Cobbler & Gold Satin Ribbon and Shaded Spruce Satin & Sheer Ribbon. I wrapped it around and adhered to the back and then added a second ribbon around and adhered in the back.

  • Tie bows with the ribbon and adhere to the present using Glue Dots.

  • Adhere the presents to the white layer using Dimensionals on the small present.

  • Adhere layer to the card base.

 
 

On the inside layer (3 3/4 x 5), stamp sentiment in Real Red ink. The sentiment is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set. Add a 3/4 x 5 strip of the Designer Series Paper to the bottom.

Sketch Challenge - Snowy Wonder

I made this card for the weekly Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge using the cute Snowy Scenes products. When I saw the sketch, I knew I wanted to make a snow globe card.

Tips & Instructions

  • Poppy Parade Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Layer 4 x 5 1/4, stamp snowflakes all over the layer in Balmy Blue ink.

  • Die cut one of the snow globes from the Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper using the Snowy Wonder Dies.

  • Die cut a piece of Garden Green Glimmer Paper (from the Festive Glimmer Paper) using the top part of the snow globe die.

  • Adhere the Glimmer paper that you cut to the bottom of the white layer and then adhere the snow globe above it using Dimensionals.

  • Die cut the banner from Basic White using the Peaceful Season Dies. Stamp the sentiment in Poppy Parade ink. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Season Stamp Set. Adhere to the card using Dimensionals on each end of the banner and a little Liquid Glue behind the middle area.

  • Adhere the layer to the card base.

  • Add some Iridescent Faceted Gems to the center of some of the snowflakes.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp sentiment in Poppy Parade ink. Stamp the trees in Garden Green ink and the penguin in Black Memento ink. Add some snowflakes in Balmy Blue ink.

Sketch Saturday - Sketched Butterflies

I made this card for the Atlantic Hearts Weekly Sketch Challenge using the Sketched Butterflies Bundle. I think it might be a little busy with all that greenery behind but I went with it.

 
 

Here’s the sketch I used. I wanted to do something different from flowers so I decided on butterflies.

 
 

Tips & Instructions

  • Pretty Peacock Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White layer - 4 x 5 1/4, adhere to the card base.

  • Basic White layer - 3 x 4 1/4, adhere to a 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 piece of Lost Lagoon and then adhere to the card.

  • Die cut 2 large greenery pieces from Pretty Peacock Cardstock and 2 large greenery pieces from Lost Lagoon Cardstock using the Golden Greenery Dies. Trim off the stems and then adhere to the card as shown.

  • Stamp 2 butterflies in Black Memento ink on Basic White Cardstock. Color with Stampin’ Blends Markers. I used Dark Highland Heather, Dark Flirty Flamingo, Dark Lemon Lolly and Light Smoky Slate.

  • Die cut the butterflies and adhere to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Basic White - 1 x 2, stamp sentiment in Black Memento ink and adhere to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Die cut 3 small butterflies from Highland Heather, Lemon Lolly and Flirty Flamingo Cardstock and adhere to the card.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the sentiment and butterflies in Black Memento ink. Color the butterflies with Stampin’ Blends Markers. The sentiment is from the So Sincere Stamp Set.

 
 

These butterflies are so pretty and I love the variety of images and dies in the bundle.

  • Stamp the car outline in Black Memento ink and then stamp the filler image in Calypso Coral, stamping off on scrap paper first to get a lighter shade. Color the window trim, lights and bumpers using a Light Smoky Slate Btampin’ Blends. Color the tires with a Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Marker. Stamp the window in Lost Lagoon ink stamping off first to get a lighter shade.

  • Stamp the sentiment in Calypso Coral ink.

  • Stamp 2 sets of the greenery in Lost Lagoon ink and die cut with the coordinating dies.

  • Die cut the roses from Daffodil Delight.

  • Arrange the greenery to create a wreath and adhere to the car. Adhere the roses around the wreath.

  • Die cut the bow with string from a scrap of Lost Lagoon.

  • Stamp the cans in Lost Lagoon ink and die cut with coordinating die.

  • Die cut 3 hearts from a scrap of Daffodil Delight. I used the medium size and 2 small sized hearts. Adhere the hearts to the cans and the cans to the string and then to the car.

  • Adhere layer to the card base.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the sentiment Calypso Coral ink and the hearts in Lost Lagoon ink.

Sketch Challenge - Frozen Edges

I made this card for the weekly Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge using the Frozen Edges Stamp Set. I thought these clusters of snowflakes worked well for this sketch.

Tips & Instructions

  • Night of Navy Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Layer 4 x 5 1/4

  • Stamp the snowflake clusters from the Frozen Edges Stamp Set on the white layer in Azure Afternoon, Balmy Blue and Night of Navy.

  • Basic White - 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 - stamp the sentiment in Azure Afternoon ink. Adhere to Azure Afternoon 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square. Adhere to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Add some white Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the icicles across the top in Balmy Blue ink and the sentiment in Azure Afternoon ink. The sentiment is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set.

 
 

I love all the blues in this card, perfect winter card.
