The inside layer has a scalloped edge to coordinate with the card front.

This card was designed by Margaret Knight and I knew I wanted to make it when I saw the pretty floral design on the Designer Series Paper. It’s a simple card with some nice touches to dress it up. The sentiment is from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set and the label was cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies.

On the inside layer I stamped the flowers across the bottom with Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet Ink.

Special Anniversary Card using Willow Tree

This month is my daughter’s wedding anniversary and I decided to make a card using the Willow Tree Stamp Set.

She was married at a winery in Upstate NY under a willow tree so there is special meaning to it. She had a picture of her and her dad, who passed a way a few years earlier, under the tree. The picture was of her in her wedding dance costume dancing with her Dad at a dance recital on Father’s Day. We never realized years later how important that picture would become.

Tips & Instructions

  • Early Espresso Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Cardstock - 5 1/2 x 4 1/4, cut using the largest Scalloped Contours Dies.

  • Stamp the sentiment with Garden Green Ink at the bottom of the scalloped layer.

  • Stamp tree with Early Espresso and leaves with Garden Green Ink.

  • Stamp ground with Early Espresso Ink, stamping off first to get a lighter shade.

  • Cut 3 hearts from Real Red Cardstock using the Sweet Hearts Dies and adhere to card.

  • Add a Hearts Pearl to the center of each heart.

On the inside stamp the sentiment with Early Espresso Ink and the greenery with Garden Green Ink. I used the Forever Fern Stamp Set because I liked the sentiment and thought the leaves went with the willow tree.

Pretty Potted Geranium Card

I love geraniums! I always planted them in clay pots and had them lining my porch steps when I lived in NY. My favorite are the red ones.

I got the idea for this card from the sample in the catalog. I changed it up a bit but love the basic layout.

The Potted Geraniums Stamp Set has such beautiful images and sentiments. You can create pretty flowers and leaves in two shades; there are outline and filler stamps that work together and it’s so easy to do because they are photopolymer.

I used Real Red and Mossy Meadow and stamping off first with the filler stamp to get the lighter shade. The dies cut out the stamped images and there’s a great label die.

You can save 10% when you purchase the stamp set and dies as a bundle. The dies are compatible Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

Tips & Instructions

  • Pool Party Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Cardstock - 5 x 3 3/4, lightly blend Pool Party Ink using a Blending Brush. Using a Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker flick some ink around the layer. Adhere to card base.

  • Basic White Cardstock - 5 x 3/4, cut using the Split Card Textures Dies. Snip to cut it away from the solid half of the layer and cut it down a little bit and adhere over blended layer.

  • On Basic White Cardstock:

    • Stamp pot with Soft Suede Ink (stamping off first), soil with Soft Suede Ink, stake with Soft Suede Ink and sentiment with Real Red Ink.

    • Stamp 2 sets flowers with Real Red Ink, stamping the outline direct and then the filler after stamping off first.

    • Stamp leaves with Mossy Meadow Ink, stamping the outline direct and then the filler after stamping off first.

    • Cut images with the coordinating Geranium Dies.

  • Adhere pieces to pot and then to the card.

  • Add some Brushed Brass Butterflies.

On the inside layer stamp sentiment with Real Red Ink. Stamp the flower and leaves the same way you stamped them on the front.

  • Punch bird from dark end of a piece of Sweet Sorbet Glimmer Paper, punch belly from light end and punch beak from a scrap of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock.

  • Stamp eyes using Stazon Ink. I laid out the pieces to determine placement. Assemble bird using Liquid Glue.

  • Stamp sentiment at the bottom of the white layer with Black Ink.

  • Stamp branch on white layer with Soft Suede Ink. Stamp leaves with Parakeet Party Ink and stamp some flowers with Sweet Sorbet Ink. Stamp the bird’s feet with Pumpkin Pie Ink.

  • On a scrap of white cardstock stamp the tag outline with Black Memento Ink. Stamp the sentiment with Starry Sky Ink. Adhere to the teacup over the piece of Baker’s Twine.

Look how pretty the card is with the envelope!

Add a Basic White inside layer (5 1/4 x 4). Cut a teacup from a piece of Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper. I cut it from behind so I the handle would be on the left side. Cut some hearts from the Sweet Sorbet Glimmer Paper. Adhere teacup and hearts to inside layer.

This card was made using the same instructions but with the green striped card base. The teacup and flowers were cut from the Sweet Sorbet (dark end) of the Glimmer Paper. The sentiment was stamped with Sweet Sorbet Ink.

I love these envelopes. The flap matched perfectly with the card front.

Isn’t this a great sentiment? I stamped it with Sweet Sorbet Ink. The teacup was cut from a piece of the Glimmer Paper. I cut it from the back to get the handle on the other side. I had to run it through my machine a couple of times to get it cut through because the glimmer paper is thick.

Sketch Saturday - Let's Set Sail

I made this cute card for this week’s sketch challenge using the Let’s Set Sail Bundle. I love this little sailboat! I added lots of texture by embossing the background layer and the white layer using the Strips & Splatters 3D Embossing Folder.

This is the sketch from the weekly Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I decided to do the striped embossed layer for that middle piece.

The Let’s Set Sail Bundle has great images and sentiments and there is a coordinating Sailboat Builder Punch.
