Sketch Challenge - Greatest Journey

Here’s the card I made for this week’s Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge. When I saw the sketch, I thought of a mountain and decided to use the The Journey Designer Series Paper as a starting point.

Here’s the sketch for SC949. You can click on the sketch to see all the projects made for this challenge. The sketch designer, Chrissy designs the sketch around horse gaits, so cool!

Tips & Instructions

  • Thick Basic White Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Enjoy The Journey Designer Series Paper (starry sky pattern) - 5 1/4 x 4

  • Enjoy The Journey Designer Series Paper (mountain) - 5 1/4 long, cut the mountain shape and adhere to the sky pattern.

  • Cut the tent pieces using the Greatest Journey Dies from Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen and adhere the pieces together.

  • Stamp 2 sets of trees with Evening Evergreen Ink on scraps of Soft Succulent and cut with the coordinating die. Adhere to the bottom and trim off the overhang pieces. I used these to fill in the bottom between the trees so it is behind the tent.

  • Adhere the tent with Dimensionals.

  • Stamp sentiment with Starry Sky (or Night Of Navy) Ink on scrap of Basic White and cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies. Adhere using Dimensionals.

  • Adhere the layer to the card base.

Cute Rain Or Shine Card from March's Tutorial Bundle

This is the card that I made for this month’s Simple Suite Stampers Tutorial Bundle. We featured the Rain Or Shine Suite. I love this cute little turtle.

You can get this tutorial bundle for free when you purchase from my Online Store in March or you can purchase the bundle directly by clicking the picture.

The Tutorial Bundle includes pictures, measurements and instructions for 12 fun projects using the Rain Or Shine products.

I cut the Rain Or Shine Designer Series Paper in strips and then placed them in order on the white layer to make a continuous scene. The turtle was stamped and colored with Stampin’ Blends.

I have a strip of the Designer Series Paper on the inside and didn’t put a sentiment on so I had plenty of room to write a note.

Did you notice the Loose Daisy Embellishments that I added?

Colorful Kaleidoscope Cards

Stampin’ Up! added a new kit to their online Kits Collection. I love this Colorful Kaleidoscope Kit. Each card has an intricate, peekaboo laser cut layer that coordinates with a fun geometric card front.

In the video I’ll show you all that’s included in the kit and how to make these cards. I made a mistake on the first card showing where to put the foam adhesive strips and I realized it when I got to the third card so listen through to see how it should be done.

The kit has everything you need to make 9 cards, 3 of each design as well as coordinating envelopes.

Here’s what’s included in the kit:

  • Colorful Kaleidoscope Photopolymer Stamp Set

  • Step-by-step instructions

  • Precut pieces (No prep work! Get right to crafting)

I don’t know why it took me so long to use the Lighting The Way Bundle. That lantern die is amazing and I love the sentiment. This card reminds me of camping when I was a kid.

The stamp set and dies are great on their own or bundle together to save 10%. The fireflies (or what I called lightning bugs) are so fun to add to a card.

  • Adhere the lantern to the card and adhere the light pieces. I used Liquid Glue for this.

  • Stamp the sentiment with Starry Sky Ink on a 1/2” strip of Basic White and adhere to the card.

  • Cut 3 fireflies from So Saffron and adhere to the card.
