I made this pretty birthday card for this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. The Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper is one of my favorites so when I saw the sketch, I immediately thought of that paper.
Here’s the sketch that I used.
Tips & Instructions
Early Espresso Card Base - 5 1/2 x 4 1/4, score at 4 1/4
Basic White Layer - 5 1/4 x 4
Vellum Basics Specialty Designer Series Paper Layer - 5 1/4 x 4
Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper - 5 1/4 x 4, tear down along the side and adhere to vellum layer. Don’t adhere to the Basic White layer yet.
Petal Pink Strip - 4 x 3/4, adhere across the layer.
Stamp and cut 2 medium flowers and one small flower with Black Memento Ink. Color with Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Markers. Adhere along the pink strip. I used Dimensionals for the small flower.
Stamp sentiment on 1/2” strip of of Basic White with Early Espresso Ink. Punch both ends with the Banners Pick A Punch. Adhere with Dimensionals.
Adhere the layer to Basic White layer putting adhesive behind the images and Designer Series Paper so the adhesive doesn’t show through the Vellum. Adhere layer to card base.
Add some Elegant Faceted Gems.
I’m hoping you can see the pretty pattern on the Velum in this picture. The Vellum Basics has 3 patterns, the one I used here with the leaves, a polka dot and a striped pattern.
On the inside layer I stamped the sentiment and flower with Early Espresso Ink. I stamped off the flower first (on a piece of scrap) to get a lighter shade.
