Butterfly Gala - Thank You & Get Well Cards

The butterfly images in the Butterfly Gala Stamp set are so pretty. There’s a coordinating punch so you can stamp and punch two butterflies at one time. The coordinating Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper is FREE with a purchase of $50 during Sale-A-Bration!

Butterfly Gala Both.jpg

I stamped the butterfly images and then used a sponge dauber to ink the middle with Lemon Lime Twist ink and the edges with Melon Mambo or Blueberry Bushel. I got this idea from Patty Bennett and I love it. Which color combo do you like better?

New Cling Stamps from Stampin' Up!

Stampin’ Up! has come out with Cling Stamps. They are red rubber stamps that get mounted on a clear block but boy do they stick. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I don’t usually put the labels on the stamps because they never seemed to stick to the block. BUT, now they stick so great, you need to put the labels on!

Watch this informative video to learn more about using the Cling Stamps!

The Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and the Candle Embellishments finish off this card perfectly! The background layer was just simply stamped randomly with sprinkles with Mango Melody Ink on Mango Melody Cardstock. This is a great way to just add a little interest to your card

Happy Tails - Loss of Pet Card

I’m so happy that Stampin’ Up! came out with stamp sets for dog and cat lovers. We love our furry friends and sometimes we need to send cards to friends who’ve lost their pet or just a card to let them know you’re thinking of them. There are some options where you can change the spots on your dog and stripes on your cat.

Happy Tails both.jpg

The card base is Early Espresso with a 5 1/4 x 4 layer of Real Red and then a 5 x 3 3/4 layer of Very Vanilla that I stamped a background of paws and bones with Crumb Cake Ink. The dog and heart were punched with the coordinating punch.

Happy Tails .jpg

You can watch the video to get all the details and steps and to also see the Cat Stamp set called Nine Lives which coordinates with the Cat Punch.

This is the same card only the dog has different spots and I stamped the paw prints in Early Espresso on the So Sorry For Your Loss sentiment.

Happy Tails2.jpg

What a great sentiment for the inside of the card. I know my little Boston Terrier, Bailey has his paw prints all over my heart.

Happy Tails Inside.jpg

Here’s a picture of Bailey. He’s a year and a half and is so sweet. I just love him!

Quick & Easy Gingerbread Kid Christmas Card

This card was so easy to make. I used the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set to create my own background. This is a sweet little gingerbread girl with the bow on her head!

Gingerbread Girl2.jpg

I only used 2 ink pads, Early Espresso and Real Red. I stamped the gingerbread man on scrap paper twice before stamping on my cardstock. The bow was stamped on scrap only once before stamping on my cardstock.

Gingerbread Man1.jpg

Using a piece of scrap paper, I stamped full strength this time to get a dark image. Then I punched it using the coordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.

Gingerbread Man2.jpg

Stamp the bow full strength on a small scrap and just punch that part out.

Gingerbread Man3.jpg

Moving the bow from the head to make a bow-tie, changes it into a gingerbread boy. How cute is he?

The card base is an A2 size with a background Layer of 5 1/4 x 4 and the smaller layers are Whisper White at 3 x 2 1/2 and Real Red at 3 1/4 x 2 3/4.

Christmas Present Card!

This card looks like a Christmas present, don’t ya think…tag and all! When I looked at the Dashing Along Designer Series Paper, I thought it looked like wrapping paper.

Santa Present Card Both.jpg

Watch the video below to see the steps to make this card and then scroll down for more details and to shop for the products.

The card base is Garden Green and has a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Dashing Along DSP. Add some Real Red Mixed Satin Ribbon to make it look like a gift.

The Santa stamp is from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set and has a coordinating punch that cuts out the images perfectly. I punched a 2 x 3 piece of Real Red Cardstock with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to get the tag and then adhered Santa to it.

The inside has a simple sentiment from the set.

Cute Beary Merry Christmas Card

I just love this sweet bear from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set. When you look at the stamp itself, it doesn’t really give you an idea of how cute he is. Add the eyes, nose, mouth and ears and he’s just adorable.

Beary Christmas Card.jpg

These are the supplies and dimensions:

Beary Christmas Card Supplies.jpg
  • Garden Green Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4

  • Dashing Along DSP - 5 1/4 x 4

  • Cherry Cobbler - 4 7/8 x 3 5/8

  • Whisper White - 4 3/4 x 3 1/2

To add some fancy corners, I used the Detailed Trio Punch on both the outside layer and the layer on the inside of the card.

Beary Christmas Card Punch.jpg

I added some Cherry Cobbler pearls to each corner as well. You can easily color your pearls with a Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend to coordinate with the colors of the card.

Beary Christmas Card Pearls.jpg

The sentiment for the inside of the card is from the Cookie Cutter Stamp Set and I wanted to add some greenery so I used a stamp from the Dashing Deer Stamp Set. You can use whatever you have on hand if you want.

Beary Christmas Card Inside Supplies.jpg

This is what the inside looks like after punching the corners. I like how it came out.

Beary Christmas Card Inside.jpg

This is such a sweet card to give to a child for Christmas and it was so easy to make. The Cookie Cutter Christmas set has some really cute images for tags or cards.

Elegant Christmas Card

Here’s another card using the Seasonal Wreath Embossing Folder. This is very different from yesterday’s card. This is more elegant with the Gold Foil Paper peaking behind the top layer and the gold embossed sentiment.

Seasonal Wreath White Both.jpg

The Very Vanilla card base is a standard A2 card (8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4). There’s a layer of Gold Foil Paper that’s 5 1/2 x 4 and then a layer of Very Vanilla that’s 5 1/2 x 3 3/4.

I used the Seasonal Wreath Embossing folder to get that beautiful wreath. It’s pretty tight but it fits the 3 3/4 width. I placed it at the top to leave room for the sentiment.

A simple bow made with Real Red Mixed Satin Ribbon adds just the right touch. You can add red or gold (or both) gems around the wreath if you want.

Seasonal Wreath White Single.jpg

The sentiment on the inside is one of my favorites. It’s also from the Merry Christmas To All and was stamped in Real Red Ink.

Rustic Christmas Wreath Card

I was playing around with the Seasonal Wreath Embossing Folder and decided to make a square card. This is not something I do very often but I think it works well with this wreath.

Seasonal Wreath Square.jpg

The card base is Cherry Cobbler and cut at 8 1/2 x 4 1/4, scored at 4 1/4. This gives you a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square card. You can make it top folding or side folding. The layer of Old Olive is 4 x 4 and was embossed with the Seasonal Wreath Embossing Folder. I stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Noel Stamp Set.

Seasonal Wreath Square Gems.jpg

The Clear Faceted Gems were colored with a Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends. You can get pretty much any color you want with the Stampin’ Blends. I took two pieces of Cherry Cobbler Cotton Twine and tied it in a bow and attached it with a glue dot.

The inside is a piece of 4 x 4 Very Vanilla Cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and the branches in Old Olive, stamping directly and then lifting and stamping again to get color variation.

Cute Gift Card Holder

I have one more project to show you using the Gift Bag Punch Board. Here’s a cute gift card holder that was so simple to make.

Gift Card Holder using Punch Board4.jpg

I’ll walk you through the steps to make these in the video below.

I used a 6 x 5 1/2 piece of Festive Farmhouse DSP and scored it (on the 6” side) at 1 5/8 and again at 4 3/8. Using a 1 1/2” punch, I punched a little notch at the top. The Sentiment is from the Timeless Tidings Stamp Set and was stamped on Very Vanilla and punched with a 1 1/2” Circle Punch. This was layered on a 2” Cherry Cobbler Circle.

For the pull-up note, I stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink on a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock cut at 2 1/8 x 3 3/4 and layered that on a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock cut at 2 1/4 x 4 1/8. A piece of Striped Burlap Trim was stapled to the top so it can pull out easily.

Flip Top Gift Bag

Using the Punch Board, you can make some alternative style gift bags. I have a couple of ways to do this; watch the video to see how to make a flip top bag and how to create a coordinating border at the top of the bag.

Isn’t this Designer Series Paper gorgeous? It’s called Petal Promenade. I just love flowers so this is right up my alley. Both bags start with a 10 x 8 piece of DSP.

The light pink one has the label made with the Label Me Pretty Stamp Set and coordinating Pretty Label Punch. I used a 1 1/4” circle punch for the sentiment and stamped it with Mossy Meadow Ink.

The bag on the right has some beautiful colors and the sentiment is from the Time For Tea Stamp Set. It was stamped with Fresh Fig and layered on a scalloped Fresh Fig scalloped circle.

Flip Top Gift Bag Closed.jpg

This is what the bag looks like when it’s open. You just flip it up and down to open and close.

This bag is so darn cute. It’s made with the Animal Expedition DSP. The box is a small one that starts with a 10 x 8 piece of DSP and I scored the top at 1 1/2” and folded it down to get that great border at the top. It was closed with a Galvanized Clip. The sentiment is from Animal Outing Stamp Set was stamped in Call Me Clover Ink. Some Leaf Ribbon was adhered behind the Stitched Oval.

Christmas Gift Bags

Today I’ll show you step by step how to use the Gift Bag Punch Board and in the process will make some beautiful Christmas gift bags.

Merry Christmas Gift Bag.jpg

Watch the video below and then come back to get the specific details on each bag.

This is the small gift bag using a 10” x 6” piece of Sahara Sand Cardstock. I cut a small piece of Joyous Noel DSP to use to cover the front. Just measure the bag front to get the right size. The Spot Of Tea Thinlits has some pretty layering shapes for the sentiment. The sentiment is from the Better Together Stamp Set and was stamped with Merry Merlot Ink and then layered on Merry Merlot Glimmer Paper. The gorgeous ribbon is the Merry Merlot Copper Reversible Ribbon.

Merry Christmas Give Bag Single.jpg

The punch board gives you some options to make a large, medium or small bag. Here are some examples.

Gift Bags small med large.jpg

The difference in the size is the bottom of the bag. The Large requires an 12” width, the Medium an 11” width and the small a 10” width. The height can vary between 4” and 12”

Gift Bags bottoms.jpg

This medium bag uses a 11” x 8” piece of All Is Bright DSP. The Sentiment is from the Peaceful Noel Stamp Set and was stamped with Versamark and then Heat Embossed with Gold Emboss Powder. A layer of Gold Glimmer Paper was cut with the Layering Ovals Scalloped Thinlit.

Gift Bag Medium.jpg

The large bag was made with a 12” x 12” piece of All Is Bright DSP and some Real Red Mixed Satin Ribbon. The sentiment is from the Merry Christmas To All Stamp Set and was stamped with Real Red Ink on a Layering Square on a Real Red Scalloped Layering Square.

Gift Bag Large.jpg

Product Of The Week Gift Bag Punch Board

The Punch Boards are so great to have on hand to make custom gift bags and envelopes. This week I’ll be featuring the Gift Bag Punch Board.

Gift Card Punch Board.jpg

The instructions are printed right on the punch board but I would suggest you practice on some scrap paper before using it on your good paper. You can make Small, Medium or Large bags and vary the height. It even has a place to punch holes at the top of your bag for ribbon.

These are some samples from the catalog.

Gift Card Punch Board Samples.jpg

These are some of the gift bags I’ve made recently. I’ll walk you through the process on a video tomorrow so come back to see. I’ll have some alternative projects as well this week. This is a great tool to have in your toolbox.

Fun Koi Fish Card

Here’s my last card this week with the All The Good Things Stamp Set. It’s pretty simple and I just winged it with stamping the fish in a circle. I tried to get the placement pretty close and am happy with how it came out.

All The Good Things Fish Square.jpg

The card base is Early Espresso and it measures 4 3/4 x 9 1/2, scored at 4 3/4 so its a square card. The Sahara Sand layer is 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and then the Whisper White layer is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. I stamped the fish with Mango Melody ink. The flowers were stamped with Early Espresso ink and then added some Clear Epoxy Droplets to the center of each flower.

For the inside I masked the larger fish to just get the sentiment inked. I used the Stamparatus to get it placed in the center. The flowers are stamped with Mango Melody ink.

Wishing You All The Good Things....

What a great sentiment! These are the things we hope for when it comes to our loved ones.

All The Good Things Fish .jpg

To create this card I used the All The Good Things Stamp Set, The Chicken Wire Elements, Stampin’ Write Markers in Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive. I added some Wink of Stella and Rhinestones.

All The Good Things Fish Supplies.jpg

The card base is Old Olive and then the layer is the Chicken Wire Elements. I adhered it with Liquid Glue in the area behind the stamped layer to hide the glue. The image and sentiment were stamped on a piece of 3 x 4 Whisper White Cardstock and then layered on a piece of 3 1/8 x 4 1/8 Calypso Coral Cardstock.

All The Good Things Fish Pieces.jpg

They way I got the color variation on the koi fish was to color it with Stampin’ Write Markers. I colored most of the fish with Calypso Coral and then added some Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie here and there. The sentiment was colored with an Old Olive marker. I breathed on the entire stamp before stamping to be sure it was moist.

All The Good Things Fish2.jpg

The koi fish on the inside were stamped with Calypso Coral and the sentiment in Old Olive.

Beautiful Bonsai Card using the "Thumping" Technique

This week I’m featuring the All The Good Things Stamp Set and thought the Bonsai tree would be perfect for the “thumping” technique. If you’re not familiar with this technique, watch the video below. It’s easy but gives a beautiful image.

Bonsai Tree Card Both.jpg

The card base is Pear Pizzaz and then I have a 5 1/4 x 4 layer of Whisper White that I embossed with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder.

Bonsai Tree Card1.jpg

I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color the stamp and then breathed on it to moisten it before stamping on the 3 x 4 piece of Whisper White Cardstock. The sentiment and trunk/branches are Early Espresso; the pot is Crumb Cake; the sand is Sahara Sand. I covered the leaf area with Pear Pizzaz and then thumped with Old Olive, Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie. You can use whatever you have on hand.

`

`

Here’s the inside. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso and the flowers in Pear Pizzaz. Check out my quick little tip for lining up the flowers in my video.

Product Of The Week All The Good Things

I have a wonderful stamp set to feature this week. It’s called All The Good Things. I just love the sentiments and images.

All The Good Things Stamp.jpg

These samples from the catalog are beautiful. You can try different techniques to color the bonsai tree and fish to get some great variations of color.

All The Good Things Samples.jpg

Tomorrow I’ll be posting a video to show you how I use the “thumping” technique to color the bonsai tree. I love how it turned out. Stay tuned….
