Sketch Saturday - Sweetly Scripted

I love the combination of the Sweetly Scripted sentiment against the script pattern in the background layer from the Nature’s Sweetness Designer Series Paper. It makes for an elegant Anniversary Card.

 
 

Here’s the sketch I used. It’s from the weekly Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge. This is an easy sketch and I was able to pull it together quickly.

 
 

Tips & Instructions

  • Pebbled Path Card Base - 4 1/4 x 11, score at 5 1/2 (top folding)

  • Basic White Layer - 3 x 5 1/2

  • Nature’s Sweetness Designer Series Paper Layer - 2 3/4 x 5 1/2, adhere to the white layer and then adhere to the card base.

  • Basic White Strip - 5/8 x 5, stamp sentiment in Versamark ink and heat emboss with Gold Embossing Powder.

  • Pebbled Path Strip - 1 x 5, adhere behind the white sentiment strip and adhere to the card at an angle. Cut off any overhang.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp sentiment in Versamark ink and heat emboss with Gold Embossing Powder. The sentiment is from the Lovely & Sweet Stamp Set.

 
 

I love all the gold on this card, so pretty!

Changing Leaves - Color Combo

The Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder is amazing. You can emboss and die cut with one pass through your machine and it even gets better when you use a patterned paper with it. I used the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper for these pretty leaves.

 
 

The color combo is from my September Inspiration Calendar - Crushed Curry, Moody Mauve and Shy Shamrock. These are great fall colors.

Tips & Instructions

  • Thick Basic White Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Shy Shamrock Layer - 4 x 5 1/2, emboss using the Leaf Fall Embossing Folder. I ran it through twice to get full coverage. Adhere to the card base.

  • Using the backside of the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper cut and emboss 2 small leaves from the Crushed Curry pattern and one large leaf from the Moody Mauve pattern. Adhere to the card.

  • Basic White Strip - 3/4 x 2 1/2, stamp sentiment in Moody Mauve ink.

  • Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper (Moody Mauve pattern) - 3/8 x 3 1/2, banner both ends and adhere behind the sentiment strip. Adhere to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Add some Crushed Curry Adhesive-Backed Dots for Days.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the leaf image in Shy Shamrock and stamp a second time without re-inking.

 
 

I love all the texture with the embossed background and embossed leaves.

Sketch Challenge - Sweetest Star

This is such a fun card with the snowflake background and that cute little Santa Claus. I made this for the weekly Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge. I used the Sweetest Star Stamp Set and Peaceful Evergreens Bundle.

Tips & Instructions

  • Boho Blue Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White - 3 3/4 x 5, use the die from the Peaceful Evergreens Die to create the snowy background. I ran the layer through twice to get 2/3 of the layer die cut. Adhere the layer to the card base.

  • Basic White - 2 x 4, tear in half and adhere the 2 pieces to the bottom area of the die cut layer to create the snowy bottom.

  • Stamp the largest tree from the Peaceful Evergreens Stamp Set on Basic White in Shaded Spruce ink. Die cut with the coordinating die. Adhere to the card.

  • Stamp the Santa image on basic white in Black Memento ink. There’s a coordinating punch but I fussy cut it. Color with Stampin’ Blends. I used Dark Real Red, Dark Basic Black, Dark Wild Wheat and Light Color Combo.

  • Add Wink of Stella to the beard and white trim on the coat and hat.

  • Basic White - 1 3/4 x 1 3/4, stamp sentiment in Real Red. Adhere to a 1 7/8 x 1 7/8 piece of Boho Blue. Adhere to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Adhere the Santa with Dimensionals.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the medium size tree in Shaded Spruce direct and then a second time without re-inking. Stamp again on scrap and then on the layer to get another light image. Stamp the sentiment in Real Red ink. I masked the sentiment to get it in two lines.

 
 

The snowy background layer is so fun.

Sketch Saturday - Courage & Faith

The Regal Winter Designer Series Paper has rich, gorgeous floral patterns. I used it for this week’s sketch challenge and was happy that the Blackberry Bliss & Gold Textured Ribbon coordinates so well with it.

 
 

Here’s the sketch I used. It’s from the weekly Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge. I love a card with a tag!

 
 

Tips & Instructions

  • Blackberry Bliss Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Regal Winter Designer Series Paper Layer - 4 x 5 1/4, adhere to the card base.

  • Graceful Greenery Vellum (white) - 3 x 4

  • Die cut the tag die from the Greetings of the Season Dies from Basic White and another from Blackberry Bliss.

  • Stamp sentiment on the white label in Blackberry Bliss ink. The sentiment is from the Courage & Faith Stamp Set. Adhere the tags together offsetting a little bit.

  • Adhere the label to the vellum layer with Dimensionals. The vellum should be a little crooked.

  • Adhere the layer to the card putting adhesive only behind the label so it doesn’t show through the vellum.

  • Tie a bow with a piece of Blackberry Bliss & Gold Textured Ribbon and adhere to the top of the tag with a Glue Dot.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), add a 3/4 x 4 strip of the Designer Series Paper.

 
 

I love this ribbon with the gold edges, so classy!

Sketched Butterflies - Color Combo

I finally got to use the Sketched Butterflies Bundle. It has beautiful butterfly images and dies. The background was embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

Tips & Instructions

  • Pumpkin Pie Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Summer Splash Glimmer Paper - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, adhere to the card base.
    TIP - die cut the butterflies from the center before you adhere the glimmer paper.

  • Pool Party Layer - 4 x 5 1/4, emboss using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to the card.

  • Using the Spotlight On Nature Dies die cut a circle from Basic White and the next larger circle from Pumpkin Pie.

  • Stamp sentiment on white circle in Black Memento ink. Adhere to the orange circle and then adhere to the card.

  • Die cut butterflies from Summer Splash Glimmer Paper, Pumpkin Pie and Pool Party. I used the small butterflies that have coordinating basic image and detailed image. Layer together and add to the card. The top left butterfly is from the grouping of 3 butterflies that I cut apart. I used the other 2 butterflies on the inside layer.

  • Add some Summer Splash Shimmer Gems.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp sentiment in Black Memento ink. The sentiment is from the So Sincere Stamp Set. Add the 2 butterflies that you cut apart from the grouping of butterflies.

 
 

The glimmer paper adds a nice sparkle to the card.

Sketch Challenge - Autumn Expressions

I made this beautiful fall card for this week’s sketch challenge. The paper is from the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper and it is so pretty. The patterns were hand-painted in an impressionist art style.

  • Cajun Craze Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Crushed Curry Layer - 4 x 5 1/4, adhere to the card base.

  • Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper - 3 3/4 x 5, cut into a diamond. Adhere to the card.

  • Cajun Craze Strip 3/4 x 5 1/4, adhere to the card.

  • Die cut 3 leaves from Crushed Curry using the Autumn Expressions Dies. Adhere to the strip with Dimensionals.

  • Die cut the sentiment label from a scrap of Very Vanilla using the large frame die and cutting just the small center. See the area I circled in the picture below.

 
 
  • Stamp sentiment on the label in Cajun Craze and adhere it to the card with Mini Dimensionals.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp sentiment in Cajun Craze ink. Stamp some leaves in Crushed Curry ink.

Sketch Saturday - More Than Autumn

I made this fun card for this week’s sketch challenge using the More Than Autumn Bundle from the new Mini Catalog. Autumn is my favorite season and I love those apple cider doughnuts from local farms. They smell so good you can’t pass them by.

 
 

Here’s the sketch I used. It’s from the weekly Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

 
 

Tips & Instructions

  • Blackberry Bliss Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Nets of Winter Designer Series Paper - 4 x 5 1/4

  • Pumpkin Pie Strip - 1 1/4 x 6, emboss on an angle using the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to the Designer Series Paper Layer and trim off any overhang.

  • Crumb Cake Strip - 3/4 x 6, stamp sentiment on the right side in Blackberry Bliss ink. Adhere to the layer, just above the embossed strip and trim off any overhang.

  • Adhere layer to the card base.

  • Stamp 3 doughnuts on Basic White in Black Memento ink and die cut using the coordinating dies. Color them with Stampin’ Blends Markers. I used Light Copper Clay for the doughnuts and Light Pumpkin Pie, Light Blackberry Bliss and Light Crumb Cake for the frosting. Add some Wink Of Stella to the frosting.

  • Die cut 3 leaves from scraps of Blackberry Bliss, Pumpkin Pie and Copper Clay. Keep both the outline and inside piece.

  • Adhere the doughnuts to the card with Dimensionals. Adhere the leaves to the card.F

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp sentiment in Blackberry Bliss. Die cut some leaves and adhere.

 
 

The Wink of Stella makes those doughnuts looks delicious in person!

This card was made using the new Regal Winter Designer Series Paper from the upcoming Mini Catalog. The patterns are rich and beautiful. I used sentiment from the Hooray For Surprises Stamp Set and I adhered a gift card inside the pocket card, it fit perfectly.

 
 

This card was made using the Nature’s Sweetness Specialty Designer Series Paper. I punched some branches right from the paper using the Bough Punch.

Regal Flora - Color Combo

I am so happy with how pretty this card turned out. The background layer was embossed using the Cute Crochet 3D Embossing Folder and I used the Regal Flora Bundle for the floral pieces. This is new product from the upcoming Mini Catalog.

The sentiment label with the frame is so cool, it’s one of the dies from the Regal Flora Dies.

Tips & Instructions

  • Thick Basic White Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Soft Sea Foam Layer - 4 x 5 1/4, emboss using the Cute Crochet 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to the card base.

  • Die cut the label from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock and again from Basic White Cardstock. You will get 2 pieces with each cut, a frame and an inside label. You’ll use the Soft Sea Foam Frame and Basic White inside for this card. Keep the other pieces for another card.

  • Stamp the sentiment at the top left corner of the white label in Calypso Coral Ink.

  • Adhere the frame and the label to the card.

  • Stamp the floral grouping twice on Basic White in Calypso Coral Ink. Stamp the greenery piece twice on Basic White in Soft Sea Foam. Stamp the branches 3 times on Basic White in Summer Splash ink. Die cut all the pieces with the coordinating dies.

  • Arrange and adhere the greenery pieces to the card using Dimensionals for the flowers.

  • Add some Summer Splash Shimmer Gems.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp flowers in Calypso Coral ink and the greenery image in Soft Sea Foam ink.

 
 

I’m really loving the Cute Crochet 3D Embossing Folder, it’s so pretty in Soft Sea Foam.

Sketch Challenge - Sweetly Scripted

Here’s my card for the weekly Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge. I used the Country Lace Designer Series Paper and then added an embossed strip which coordinates so well with the paper. The sentiment is from the Sweetly Scripted Stamp Set.

Tips & Instructions

  • Misty Moonlight Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Country Lace Designer Series Paper (blue pattern) - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, cut in half diagonally. Adhere one piece to the left side of the card front.

  • Country Lace Designer Series Paper (beige pattern) 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, cut in half diagonally. Adhere one piece to the right side of the card front.

  • Use the other half of the beige pattern to cut a smaller triangle. Don’t adhere it yet.

  • Misty Moonlight 4 1/4 x 8. Lay the small triangle at the bottom corner of it and cut along the edge to create a Misty Moonlight Strip. Emboss using the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder.

  • Adhere the small triangle to the bottom right corner. Adhere the embossed layer along the small triangle. Trim off any overhang.

  • Stamp sentiment on a 3/4 x 6 1/2 strip of Basic White in Misty Moonlight ink. I used the Sweetly Scripted Stamp Set. Adhere to the embossed strip and trim off any overhang.

  • Add some Brushed Brass Butterflies.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), add 2 triangles from the blue patterned paper. I cut a 2 x 2 square and then cut it in half diagonally.

 
 

I love all the triangles on this card. It was a fun sketch to use.

Sketch Saturday - Christmas Friends

Tips & Instructions

  • Shaded Spruce Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Nests Of Winter Designer Series Paper - 3 x 4 1/2, adhere to the card front off center, towards the right side.

  • Die cut circle from Basic White using the circle from the Christmas Friends Dies. Stamp sentiment at the bottom of the circle in Real Red ink.

  • Stamp the bear image on a piece of Basic White in Black Memento Ink. Color with Stampin’ Blends Markers. I used Dark Real Red, Dark Shaded Spruce and Light Crumb Cake. Die cut using the coordinating die and adhere to the circle.

  • Add some Baker’s Twine behind the circle. I used tape to adhere it to the back. Adhere the circle to the card front with Dimensionals.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp sentiment in Real Red ink. Stamp owl image in Black Memento ink. Color with light Crumb Cake and Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends Markers.

 
 

This bear is adorable and so is the sweet owl. The sentiments are fun as well.

Pocket Thoughts Birthday - Color Comb

I made this sweet birthday card with a fun pull up note using the Pocket Thoughts Bundle. The dies include 3 sizes of pockets that you can cut, fold and adhere to a card.

Tips & Instructions

  • Boho Blue Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Layer - 3 3/4 x 5, splatter Boho Blue ink all over the layer using a Boho Blue marker.

  • Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper - Die cut the middle size pocket using the Pocket Thoughts Dies. Fold the flaps and adhere to the white layer. Adhere layer to card base.

  • Basic White - 2 1/8 x 3 1/4, punch hole at the top and stamp sentiment in Berry Burst Ink. Splatter Berry Burst Ink using a Berry Burst marker. This will fit inside the pocket.

  • Using a Dark Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends Marker, color a piece of Iridescent Striped Ribbon. Fold the ribbon in half and feed it through the hole, pull the ends through the fold.

  • Stamp the cupcake and fussy cut it. I colored right on the stamp using Stampin’ Write Markers (DO NOT USE STAMPIN’ BLENDS) I used Boho Blue for the cupcake holder and Berry Burst for the cupcake top. Stamp the coordinating cupcake top right over the top using Bubble Bath ink. Adhere the cupcake to the pocket.

  • Add some Berry Burst Tinsel Gems.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the sentiment in Boho Blue ink and stamp the cupcake the same way you did it on the front.

 
 

I love having this little notecard that fits in the pocket, so fun.

Sketch Challenge - Courage & Faith

I made this card for the weekly Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge using ink and Blending Brushes and the Courage & Faith Stamp Set. I love how it turned out.

Tips & Instructions

  • Basic Black Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Shy Shamrock Layer - 3 7/8 x 5 1/8

  • Basic White Layer - 3 3/4 x 5

  • Cardstock - 3 1/2 x 3 3/4, die cut a large circle. I used the Spotlight On Nature Dies. You will lay this piece over the white layer. Use a piece of Post-It Note or Washi Tape to hold it in place. Use a Blending Brush to add ink to the circle. I used Azure Afternoon ink.

  • Cardstock - 3 x 3 1/4, die cut a smaller circle. Repeat the above steps using a different color ink. I used Shy Shamrock ink.

  • Die cut the smaller circle again using a piece of scrap or Post-It Note. Lay it over the small circle. Lay the cardstock that you used to cut the large circle over the layer. This will help when stamping the images so you don’t get ink outside the circle. Stamp the floral images in Black Memento ink.

  • Stamp the sentiment on the green circle in Black Memento ink.

  • Adhere the white layer to the green layer and then to the card base.

  • Add some Iridescent Pearls.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp and floral images in Black Memento ink.

Sketch Saturday - Autumn Leaves

Here’s my card for this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I used the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder to create the doily piece. Those pretty leaves were cut from the Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper using the Autumn Leaves Dies.

 
 

Here’s the sketch I used. It’s a very delicate, feminine looking card.

 
 

Tips & Instructions

  • Very Vanilla Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Very Vanilla - 4 x 5, die cut using the 5th from largest circle from the Deckled Circles Dies. Emboss using the Dotted Circles Embossing folder.

  • Adhere the circle to the card front letting it hang off the edge. Trim off the edge. (Note: Don’t put adhesive to the edge so you can slip some leaves behind it.)

  • Die cut the leaves from the backside of the Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper using the Autumn Leaves Dies. Adhere to the card front slipping some behind the circle and using Dimensionals to add some to the top of he circle.

  • Stamp the sentiment (from the Changing Leaves Stamp Set) on a 3/4 x 3 strip of the Designer Series Paper in Versamark ink. Heat Emboss with White Embossing Powder. Cut each end at a diagonal and adhere the strip to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Add some gold Opal Rounds.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), adhere 2 leaves that you cut from the Designer Series Paper and a 3/4 x 4 strip of the Designer Series Paper.

 
 

I love die cutting from back side of our Designer Series Paper. It gives you a beautiful, textured look.

Triple Layer Cards - Two Ways

You can make the Triple Layer Design two different ways. You can either use a patterned paper or stamp the layers. Either way, they are beautiful.

These cards were made using patterned paper and they are actually 4 layer, Quadruple Layer Cards 😆

I used the brand new Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper from the upcoming Mini Catalog on the first one and the Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper on the second one.

 
 

These cards were made using stamps and ink. Just layer your white pieces together and stamp the images. The first card was stamped using the new Frozen Edges Stamp Set and the second with the Irresistible Blooms Stamp Set.

Attention Shoppers - Color Combo

The Attention Shoppers Stamp Set and Dies are so fun. I’ve had them for a while and never used them. There are lots of images you can use to put into the shopping cart.

 
 

The Color Combo that I used is from my August Inspiration Calendar - Pretty Peacock, Balmy Blue and Fresh Freesia. You can get my calendar each month when you subscribe to me email list.

 
 

Tips & Instructions

  • Thick Basic White Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Stamp sentiment at top right side in Pretty Peacock ink.

  • Regals Designer Series Paper (Pretty Peacock) - 1 1/2 x 5 1/2, adhere to the left side of the card front.

  • Die cut a piece of Basic White using the largest circle from the Spotlight On Nature Dies.

  • Stamp bottle, bag and flower images from the Attention Shoppers Stamp Set on Basic White in Black Memento ink. Color with Stampin’ Blends. Die cut with the coordinating dies.

  • Die cut the shopping cart and wheels from a piece of Silver Foil Sheet. Adhere the bottom part of the cart to the top part.

  • Arrange the images on the circle behind the shopping cart to determine placement. Adhere them to the circle and then adhere the circle to the card using Dimensionals. .

  • Add some Fresh Freesia Tinsel Gems.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink. Stamp the cake image in Black Memento ink and color with Stampin’ Blends. I used Fresh Freesia and Balmy Blue and then added some Lemon Lolly for the flames.

 
 

This shopping cart is so fun; I love that you can fill it with different images.

Sketch Challenge - Market Goodness

Boy, this week’s Sketch Challenge from Splitcoaststampers was a tough one. I decided use the To Market Designer Series Paper for the 3 boxes and I’m happy with how it turned out.

Tips & Instructions

  • Blackberry Bliss Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Layer 4 x 5 1/4

  • To Market Designer Series Paper - 2 pieces cut to 3/4 x 4 (one plaid and one woodgrain)

  • Blackberry Bliss strip 1/4 x 4

  • Fussy cut 3 market bags from the Designer Series Paper.

  • Die cut some veggies from the Designer Series Paper using the Market Goodness Dies. I fussy cut the red pepper.

  • Adhere the veggies to the bags. Assemble the card as shown. I used Dimensionals for the bag in front.

  • Stamp sentiment in Blackberry Bliss Ink.

 
 

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), adhere a 3/4 x 4 strip of Designer Series Paper.

 
 

I love that you can die cut those veggies from the Designer series Paper, so easy.
