Sketch Challenge - Delightful Wishes

The beautiful forsythia branch from the Delightful Wishes Bundle makes me think of spring. These bloom early on and are so pretty. I used the Floral & Gingham Vellum to create the triangles.

I made the card for this week’s Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge. Click on the sketch to see the other projects posted for this week.

Tips & Instructions

  • Thick Basic White Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Pool Party Layer - 4 x 5 1/4 , use the die to create the peek-a-boo flowers on the layer. Adhere the layer to the card base.

  • Cut 2 triangles from Basic White and 2 triangles from the Floral & Gingham Vellum. I created a template on a piece of Post-It Note and layed that on the pieces to cut the triangles. They should all be the same size. Adhere the vellum triangles to the White triangles. I adhered them together using a little Liquid Glue that I smeared on the Vellum so it wouldn’t show through.

  • Adhere the triangles to the card.

  • Die cut the branch from Early Espresso Cardstock.

  • Stamp the flowers on Basic White Cardstock in Daffodil Delight ink. I stamped the detailed image first directly and then the filler image after stamping off first to get a lighter shade. Die cut with coordinating die.

  • Stamp the leaves on Basic White in Old Olive ink. Die cut with coordinating die.

  • Adhere the branch to the card with Liquid Glue and the flowers and leaves with Glue Dots.

  • Stamp the sentiment on 3/8 strip of Old Olive in Versamark ink. Heat emboss with White Embossing Powder. Banner each end and adhere with Dimensionals.

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4) stamp the sentiment in Pool Party ink. Stamp the flowers in Daffodil Delight, leaves in Old Olive and the branch in Early Espresso inks.

I wasn’t sure about this sketch but love how it turned out.
