Sketch Saturday - Seaside Wishes Slimline Card

I love a slimline card and was happy to see it for this week’s sketch challenge. I used the Seaside Wishes Bundle which has a hybrid embossing folder which cuts and embosses with one pass through the machine.

Here’s the sketch I used. It’s from the weekly Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I love doing their sketches.

Tips & Instructions

  • Pecan Pie Card Base - 7 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 3 3/4

  • Basic Beige Layer - 8 1/4 x 3 1/2, stamp the sand image at the top and bottom right side corners multiple times in Pecan Pie Ink.

  • Use the Hybrid Embossing Folder with the die for the sand dollars in it and place a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Pecan Pie Cardstock in it. Run it through your die cutting machine using the Specialty Plate for 3D Embossing Folders.

  • Blend Pecan Pie ink on the 3 sand dollars with a Blending Brush to add some texture.

  • Stamp the large and small starfish images on Crumb Cake Cardstock in Cajun Craze ink and die cut with the coordinating dies.

  • Die cut 2 of the detailed sand dollars from Crumb Cake Cardstock.

  • Arrange and adhere the pieces on the Basic Beige layer.

  • Basic Beige - 1 1/4 x 2 1/2, stamp sentiment in Pecan Pie ink. Adhere to a piece of Pecan Pie cut to 1 3/8 x 2 5/8. Adhere to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Add some clear Opal Rounds.

On the inside layer (Basic Beige - 8 1/4 x 3 1/2), stamp sentiment the smaller silver dollar in Pecan Pie ink. Stamp 2 small starfish in Cajun Craze ink. Stamp some sea glass images in Pecan Pie stamping off first to get a lighter shade. Stamp the sand image to fill in.

I love all the texture on this card. The sand dollars almost look real.
