Sketch Saturday - Patriotic Card

I made a Patriotic Card for this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. This is a great card for the Fourth of July!

Here’s the sketch I used. It’s a great way to use scraps of paper.

Tips & Instructions

  • Night of Navy Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Layer - 5 1/8 x 3 7/8

  • Cut strips of Night of Navy, Real Red and Basic white at various lengths and 3/4” wide.

  • Adhere the strips on the white layer letting the ends hang over the side. Once all are adhered, snip off the ends that are hanging over.

  • Adhere the layer to a piece of Basic White cut to 4 x 5 1/4. Adhere layer to the card base.

  • Die cut the USA letters from Real Red using the Mini Alphabet Dies and adhere to a piece of Basic White cut to 1 x 1 3/4.

  • Adhere the sentiment layer to a piece of Night of Navy cut to 1 1/4 x 2. Adhere to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Die cut 3 large stars from Night of Navy, Real Red and Basic White using the Kiddin’ Around Dies. Adhere to the card.

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink. The sentiment is from the Simply Said Mix & Match Stamp Set. Die cut one large star from Real Red and 2 small stars from Night of Navy and adhere to the layer.

I love that you can use the Mini Alphabet Dies to spell out what you want. They are not too big so they come in handy for all sorts of sentiments or names.
