Sketch Challenge - Irresistible Blooms

I love layering a piece of vellum over a patterned paper. The vellum is from the Graceful Greenery Vellum pack which has a textured look to it.

I made this card for the weekly Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge. Here’s the sketch I used. You can click on the sketch to see other projects posted for this week’s challenge.

Tips & Instructions

  • Pretty Peacock Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Frames & Flowers Specialty Designer Series Paper - 4 x 5-1/4

  • Graceful Greenery Vellum - 4 x 5 1/4

  • Die cut the circle and long swirly piece from Pretty Peacock using the Irresistible Blooms Dies. You’ll have to cut the circle out with snips and cut the long swirly piece in half. Just snip around the circles to detach them. Adhere to the vellum layer.

  • Stamp the small flower on Basic White in Pumpkin Pie ink. Die cut with the coordinating die.

  • Die cut 2 leaves from Lost Lagoon Cardstock.

  • Stamp the sentiment on a scrap of Basic White in Pretty Peacock ink. Fussy cut around the sentiment.

  • Adhere the leaves behind the flower and then adhere it to the vellum layer with Dimensionals. Adhere the sentiment with Dimensionals.

  • Adhere the vellum layer to the Designer Series Paper layer putting adhesive behind the die cuts so it doesn’t show through the vellum. You can add a tiny bit of glue behind each corner, spreading it thinly.

  • Adhere the layer to the card base.

  • Add 3 small Peach Pie Shimmer Gems to the center of the flower.

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4), stamp flower in Pumpkin Pie ink and the leaves in Pretty Peacock ink.

The textured vellum adds such a nice look to this card and I love the pop of Pumpkin Pie from the flower.
