Sketch Challenge - Fancy Flora Sympathy Card

I’m so excited to be asked to be part of the Splitcoast Card Sketch Team. Each week for the next 6 months I’ll create a card based on sketch and post it in my Splitcoastampers Gallery.

Here’s my first card. I used products from the Fancy Flora Suite. The floral image was cut from a piece Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper using the Two-Tone Flora Dies.

Here’s the sketch. You can find all the cards made for this sketch challenge by searching the gallery for SC943. You can also make a card and load it into the gallery using the SC943 tag.

Tips & Instructions

  • Orchid Oasis Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4, round the top corner.

  • Basic White Layer - 5 1/4 x 4, round the top corner.

  • Cut piece of Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper using the second from smallest Layering Circle Die. Cut the circle with the Two-Tone Flora large floral die. Move it around to get the pattern you like.

  • Create the rim with Fresh Freesia Cardstock using the largest and 3rd from largest Layering Circle Dies. Adhere rim to floral circle.

  • Create a small banner by cutting a piece of the Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper to 3/4” and punch one end with Banners Pick A Punch. Lay under the circle and cut off (at an angle) what shows through the floral piece. Adhere small banner and circle.

  • Cut strip of Orchid Oasis at 3/4” and punch one end with Banners Pick A Punch.

  • Stamp sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder. Adhere to layer.

  • Adhere layer to the card using Foam Adhesive pieces or Dimensionals.

I love the variation of colors that you get from the Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper.

On the inside layer stamp some of the greenery with Soft Succulent Ink and stamp a second and third time without re-inking. Round the top corner.
